The design and development process
Our approach to developing your data solution is very people-centric. At every stage we will work closely with you to ensure the Database Solution we are building meets your needs and the needs of your business.
The whole end-to-end process will normally take no more than 7 to 10 days, but it can take more if there are custom requirements that require additional development.
Discovery Meeting
In our initial meeting with you, which is free of charge, we ask you about your data needs, your data and analytics challenges and what a good outcome for this project looks like for you. We also present to you the capabilities of Alpha DB and confirm that Alpha DB is a good match for your needs. Based on this meeting we will present a quote for you.
Design
The next step is a design meeting to discuss your database and data requirements in detail. This will include requirements for the data model, as well as any custom reports and data and analytics challenges that need to be solved. Once these data and database requirements are agreed, we can then proceed to the development of the Database.
Development
During the development phase, we will develop the data model for your database, as well as any custom reports, and work on the extract transform and load steps for the initial data load of the data model, if applicable. Development also includes system testing to ensure all features work as expected.
Environment Setup
The environment setup includes the setup of the database server, as well as the web application server. Backups are configured and DNS records created as required.
Deployment
The deployment of the database and application code sees the migration of the codebase from a development server to your live instance, ie the server that you will use to access the database on going forward.
Testing
After deployment, we thoroughly test the deployed code base once again to ensure all features are delivered and working as expected.
Go-live
This is the moment from which you can start using the database for your business purposes. We will create a login for your administrator and your users and you and your team members can start using Alpha DB.
Support
In addition to the standard support which you will always have as part of your subscription, after go-live you will have 7 days of enhanced support to ensure you can ask questions and can become familiar with all functions of Alpha DB.
